What is Thermal Transfer Printing?

Thermal transfer printing utilizes an ink ribbon that is heated by the print head to overlay the barcode image onto the label. This creates a darker, permanent, and more durable label image than direct thermal printing. This is ideal for longer term labeling needs, or for labels made of more durable material. Common uses are for asset tagging, or tagging of inventory management bin locations.
